My Life
Happy Easter everyone! I thought that I would just drop in to wish you all well, and update your briefly on what I’ve been up to. I have in fact been pretty ill, which isn’t making for the best Easter holiday right now… It’s also the reason for the slight lack in posts over the past couple of days, something that I’ll be rectifying next week.
Anyway, next week I’m expecting a surge of new posts, some changes to the blog itself and hopefully good health. I hope that everyone is having a great day!

Push Standards
Hi everyone,
Apologies for not posting anything of real interest today but I’m slaving away in the library to get an important essay done.
I just wanted to announce a few ‘coming soon’ developments to the blog.
Firstly I’m going to be monetizing the website properly soon. However, don’t worry the page won’t become laden with annoying adverts or anything. I’m thinking about keeping things very simple, such as ‘buy me a beer’ and non-obstrusive affiliate links. I’ll basically be combining the themes of my users voluntarily giving something back (for instance if they appreciate a good article or tutorial) and providing affiliate links WITH A PURPOSE that should provide useful content to my visitors. What I won’t be doing is splashing adsense all over the place. I’ll also hopefully be working on posting some paid reviews as my traffic is growing nicely right now. This strategy is partly inspired by the great video over at ShoeMoney about ‘monetizing your blog’.
Secondly I’m going to be taking promotion to the next level. I look set to receive as many unique visitors in the first week of March as I did in the entire month of February (around 11,000). I figured that this is the time to pull out all the stops and keep improving this traffic curve. I hope to definitely surpass 30,000 uniques this month! The good news for readers is that I’ll be posting about my promotional strategies (something I haven’t done properly in a while). I’ve got some really great ideas for how to effectively market the blog, so check back soon!
Finally, I’m going to be working to improve the content of Push Standards over the coming weeks. I’m not saying that I don’t like the content that I’m posting, but look out for some great new Photoshop tutorials, and insightful posts about blogging/marketing! I’m also thinking about getting into interviews, as I always appreciate a well-written interview with someone succeeding in their field.
On that note, I’m afraid that it’s back to the essay. Wish me luck, and check back tomorrow for a more substantial post!

Just a very quick update for everyone,
I’ve been incredibly busy tonight catching up on some important work and also making some much needed changes to Css Gallery List.
Thankfully by tomorrow I should have a much reduced workload and will be able to put some more time into Push Standards. For now I’d just like to update you on a few things:
I’m now offering a free website review to one lucky webmaster so be sure to leave me a comment and you may be selected for the write up. I’ll probably be posting the review tomorrow night or Wednesday night latest now, I just want to give a few more people the opportunity to suggest their website.
CssGalleryList.com is slowly but surely gathering some momentum as people begin to see the benefits of the service. This is the time when I’m trying to really push the site’s exposure and so would really appreciate your help! Please post a link in your next blog post if you feel that the site is news worthy, I’d be extremely grateful.
Also if you haven’t yet tried submitting your website to Css Galleries I really suggest that you give it a try (using my site of course :P) as the traffic benefits can be huge.
I’m working on a really exciting Wordpress template! I’ll be offering a custom designed news-themed Wordpress template sometime in the near future to my readers. The template is looking really great so far and I hope that it will appeal to many of you.
I’m working on another photoshop tutorial - this time to show you how to create an amazing header design for your blog. My last tutorial is currently being shown on Tutorialized’s homepage - and has received far more traffic than any of the other upcoming tutorials by the look of things.
So that’s what I’ve been up to. Be sure to check back tomorrow when I’ll be posting some great new content, and please subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks!

Blog,
My Life
Nothing very exciting to post I’m afraid (wow that was a terrible start to a blog post). Unfortunately I’ve had the most hectic night ever! I thought I would let you loyal readers know that I wanted to post, but just didn’t have a spare minute!
It’s been one of those times lately where everything is either going wrong or takes up a lot more time than anticipated. I’ve spent most of my night finishing a design for a client (which I’m very happy with - look out for a post about the site’s launch in the next few days), trying to fix a particularly HUGE forum crash and reading an entire Shakespeare play for my English tutorial in oh… a few hours time. On top of that I have the stress of impending essays for most of my subjects, a huge backlog of reading and stuff that I don’t even want to talk about.
Oh the joys of being a student/designer/blogger! Expect a more useful blog post tomorrow (or rather tonight).
