About Me

PushStandards.com is a brand new blog created to follow my experiences as a web designer and aspiring entrepreneur. I will blog about my various online projects, as well as post articles discussing blogging, web design/trends, and marketing.

If you like the blog so far please sign up to my RSS Feed.

Who am I? My name is Tom Ross, and I’m currently studying English at St Andrews University (Scotland). I’ve been designing websites for over 8 years now, and have owned a few in my time. I love anything creative, and dream of starting my own business (online or offline) that I will grow into something life changing.

2008 has been an intense, but enjoyable year so far in terms of online ventures. Not only have I launched my own personal website (5 years and 30 offline redesigns later), but I’m branching out into domaining, marketing and business ventures. In January I saw my learning curve go up like never before, and I look forward to continuing this progress. My main goal for 2008 is to be able to completely live off of what I do online, and have a nice sum of disposable income. I’m not a million miles away from this already, but am still extremely keen to network with fellow bloggers, designers and entrepreneurs. I will be launching several more websites over the coming weeks and months, including a resource that could prove priceless to website designers everywhere, so keep an eye out!

Other random facts about me:

  • I love the following bands with an unhealthy passion: Interpol, The Strokes, The Shins, The National and Band of Horses.
  • I love films, and dream of becoming a film director, but this will probably never happen.
  • I play the guitar, but am probably the worst singer of all time - making the guitar playing entirely pointless.
  • I love good beer, and am slowly being converted to ale by one of my close friends.
  • My dream is to get rich, but not for the sake of having lots of money. I want to ideally do something or produce something that is useful for people everywhere, and the money is kind of a bonus from that. Change my hosting service into windows web hosting. Aside from that I’m holding out for the whole house, wife, (dog?) scenario, but hope to keep enjoying myself until then.

I’m open to project collaborations, so drop me an email via the contact page if you are interested in working with me.
