Just a very quick update regarding the rss contest that I’m running. As you can see from the counter above I’m very close to reaching my round 1 goal of 50 subscribers. Thanks to all who have subscribed so far!

I’m really keen to reach the 50 mark so that I can move onto Round 2 and up the prize money. So please, if you haven’t already, take the time to subscribe and be in with a chance of winning $5! (see conditions)

Please subscribe via RSS or Email!

  1. I’ve subscribed!

  2. Thanks! :)

  3. I know it’s popular to get subscriptions to blog feeds these days but I wonder why anyone would subscribe? I am trying to get rid of all the clutter in my email as I never have time to read things like newsletters or feeds any more. I just go to the blog or site itself and catch up on old posts while I’m there. What do you think are advantages to subscribing? Real advantages versus the party line. I can see advantages for site owners but not site readers.

  4. Well there’s one main advantage and that is saving time. If you read a lot of blogs then it’s very time consuming checking all of them each day for updates, a reader will let you receive posts as they are made, saving you the time of checking yourself.

  5. Wow, I think feeds are a real blessing, but I guess not everybody thinks so. Which is al right, some people like milk, some are lactose intolerant. For me, it’s a way to keep track of your favorite blogs. Just think you like around 50 blogs, now wouldn’t that be a pain to go visit 50 different blogs? That would mean having to open 50 different browser windows, that’s not very smart. With feeds, you open one window and voila, you have all the new articles of all your 50 blogs right there, in front of you. I don’t know how you can’t see the advantages is that!

  6. I don’t actually use feeds, but it’s been on my list of things to do for a long time now. Very hypocritical I know, but I definitely understand the advantages of them (why I’ll soon be using them). Anyway all of my blogging friends can expect an extra subscriber when I get that sorted.
