Enter my Blog Contest!

Blogging contests are a fantastic viral marketing technique as fellow bloggers help to spread the word about your website in exchange for money or prizes. I’m really going to explore this method of promotion over the next few weeks (and of course document my findings). What really appeals to me about blogging contests is that everybody wins. The contest holder gets viral marketing, and the blogger gets a great prize for very little effort. If anything blogging about someone else’s website is generating quality content for you (if you are referring your readers to a useful resource).

So… without further ado I’m announcing my first blog contest! Despite just launching I really want to get the word out, and so am offering a pretty decent prize. The best blog post or review of Push Standards posted over the course of the next month (deadline: March 5th) will receive a months free advertising. Not only this but I will pay you the value of the ad spot back! So you’re basically receiving $50 worth of prize ($25 cash, $25 worth of ad space).

The review can be as long as you like, but obviously the more detailed your review the more likely it is that you will be chosen as the winner. My only condition is that your site must not be inappropriate in nature as I can’t be linking to adult or illegal websites. Please post a link to your blog post in the comments section for this post. This will mean that even if you are not chosen as the contest winner you will have a permanent link to your website from this post. I will also give honorable mention to the runners-up when I blog about the contest ending.

    Btw, I agree with Jim’s suggestion. I think you should remove the “advertise here” banners. You can replace them with affiliate banners until you get private advertisers.
